Most Africans face significant disadvantages, including high levels of inequality, poverty, and violence. They also have limited access to services and a weak health and welfare infrastructure (United Nations Development Program, 2014). In order to enhance global progress towards achieving sustainable development, the United Nations Development Group has emphasized the need to identify “accelerators.” These accelerators are evidence-based interventions, services, or programmatic areas that can target multiple SDGs simultaneously and in greater depth than individual provisions. By doing so, they maximize the efficient use of limited available resources.
EVIHDAF works in sectors that accelerate development in Africa such as
- Health Management Information System (HMIS), including Data Use
- Digital platform design and support
- Evidence to inform locally led sustainable services
